INTECH partners with Claroty to help secure a complex process control system network with latest OT Cyber-security technology

INTECH has collaborated with Claroty, one of the leading cyber security firms for industrial control networks, to secure a complex process control system network with latest OT Cyber-security technology for a major oil and gas company in Kazakhstan.

INTECH’s integration experience in handling complex process control networks and Claroty’s expertise in OT cyber-security for industrial control networks proved to be a winning combination for this project. Haris Ibrahim, INTECH’s global marketing manager, was particularly excited about the strategic fit that this partnership achieves concerning end-to-end client services and over-all business growth:

“As a system integrator, over-all system health is paramount for us and process control network security is, arguably, the most important element. OT cyber-security is getting even more critical as the technology ecosystem evolves and the INTECH-Claroty partnership addresses those concerns for our clients seamlessly.”

“Claroty’s leading-edge expertise & deep understanding of OT cyber-security fits perfectly with INTECH’s system integration experience & industrial automation skill-set. This partnership holds immense strategic promise because the clients can benefit from its unrivaled interdisciplinary prowess, while the partners can capitalize on the so-far untapped business opportunities.”

In the said project, the process control system network comprises of three plants (300+ assets) managed by two sets of multi-vendor distributed control systems and associated systems. The client desired to meet the latest standards of Process Control Network (PCN) Cyber-security in Operational technology (OT) domain and enhance transparency throughout the PCN.

The system proposed was vendor-independent; capable of monitoring & enforcing security while managing assets on the PCN/SCADA/ICS network (including workstations, network devices, PLCs, and other proprietary equipment). The system will run automatically, delivering continuous visibility across client sites, along with alerts on security vulnerabilities and compliance issues.

The overall solution is equipped with the key capabilities of advanced threat detection, continuous vulnerability monitoring, network segmentation, secure remote access, and security posture assessment. Based on Claroty’s off-the shelf products and expertise within the OT environment, it will provide the following benefits:

  • Extreme visibility into ICS Networks
  • Identification of security gaps – including known vulnerabilities and network hygiene issues
  • Detection of security posture changes
  • Continuous system monitoring for known and unknown threats
  • Improve triage and recovery
  • Reduce total cost of ownership
  • Proactively hunt threats
  • Secure, monitor, and record remote access to ICS assets
