INTECH’s Alarm Management and Enterprise Virtualization Solution resolves critical automation assets’ underutilization issues in Oman; receives acclaim from the client

INTECH Process Automation successfully deployed Alarm Management and Enterprise Virtualization Solutions in Oman; resolving underutilization issues of critical automation assets and improving operator effectiveness.

The client is the foremost exploration and production company in the Sultanate and accounts for more than 70% of the country’s crude oil production and nearly all of its natural gas supply. It faced different issues in their Alarm Management systems leading to substantial under-utilization of critical automation assets linked to that system. As a result, operator effectiveness was being hampered significantly.

INTECH’s Advanced Solutions services were requested for troubleshooting all core issues along with providing an effective enterprise virtualization solution. INTECH’s scope of services in the project included:

  • Provision of Alarm Management dashboard (based on ISA 18.2 standards and EEMUA 191 guidelines) on the corporate network for all users comprising management, facility engineers and operations.
  • Robust Support for connectivity of alarm management dashboard to all the stations on the Process Control Network

INTECH’s Advanced Solutions team, working closely with the client, was able to deliver the following benefits through their deployed solutions:

  • Alarms Trending & Aggregated Analysis on PDO Business Territories
  • Guaranteed Data Collection of alarms & events from all Automation Assets covering ten sites.

INTECH’s team received enormous praise and excellent reviews from the client. An official statement from the client commended “the efforts in customizing the business analysis software for deployment at the location for Web Based Alarm Management Dashboard”. The client also stated that the solution has “met the set objectives and delivered the desired results”.

The client has expressed its desire to deploy INTECH’s solutions more expansively at its facilities following the success of this project. INTECH’s team is following up and working closely with the client to bring in further operational efficiency across various client locations.
