About The Position

Materials Management Activities

  • Goods and shipments receiving: Check and sign delivery slips, safely unload material, inspect and verify against packing slips and purchase orders or other documents, receive complying material in the system, and label and safely store, reject or return non-complying material as per established company procedures.
  • Local and international shipments: Verify shipping documents and requirements, compile material, coordinate with crating company if the material needs crating, assemble crates, pack and label material to be shipped, handle customer/vendor pickups, follow company procedures and make necessary verifications against documents, sign and stamp the shipping documents, identify, recommend and arrange a correct mode of shipments
  • Material issuance for assembly: Verify material issuance documents, gather and compile required material to be issued, coordinate with the person/vendor to verify and collect material
  • Material loading, unloading, and relocation: Operate forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods and material
  • Coordination: Contact transport companies and suppliers in order to expedite, trace or return materials that do not conform to specifications or purchase orders, support the project teams in properly arranging the material for assembly and testing
  • Inventory control: take inventory, maintain storage area, organize and place materials on shelves. Ensures the area is clean and secure at all times.
  • Maintain internal record-keeping systems, take clear photos of all incoming and outgoing material, pre and post packing
  • Manage courier and shipment accounts of the company, recommend cost-saving improvements and suggestions

General Daily Activities

  • Ensure that the shipping/receiving area is not left unattended during business hours
  • Ensure materials cage and the facility is secured and locked by end of each day
  • Keep the materials storage, work area, and shipping/receiving area clean and organized all the time
  • Ensure safe operations in panel shop and compliance to all applicable safety rules
  • Ensure forklift is properly maintained and is parked only in the designed area
  • Ensure same day response/acknowledgment on each communication (email, text, call, etc.), email responses should not be carried over to the next day
  • Keep track of consumables and replenish as needed
  • Ensure material receipt and shipments are error-free and in compliance with the documentation
  • Ensure requirements related to Quality (ISO 9001 & CSIA Standards) & Safety (OHSAS 18001 Standard) Management System are effectively implemented and maintained in your domain

Requirements

Required Knowledge

  • Know safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials
  • Know proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods
  • Know the requirements of documentation compliance for the international export shipments
  • Experience in managing and handling local and internal shipments
  • Understand and follow all company procedures regarding material handling and packing and shipping

Required Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree will be preferred
  • Familiar with computers, basic math skills, good organizational skills, ability to follow instructions and work under pressure, and physical ability
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience of forklift driving, especially sit down forklift
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in shipping/receiving or similar role
  • Fluent in English language, bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical and control system components is preferred
