
Enhanced Reliability and Availability Emergency Shutdown Pump Protection System for a petrochemical facility
Saudi Arabia is known for its natural resources especially oil. The customer is the world’s largest petrochemicals manufacturers, with an overall production capacity of 69 million metric tons in 2011. The customer also has a major production center on the western coast in Yanbu. The customer required upgrading its obsolete control system for its safety critical pumps. INTECH was called in for:
- Reverse Engineering of existing Regent Plus system
- Design & Engineering of a new Emergency Shutdown System (ESD)
- Manufacturing, Installation, Integration and hot cut-over Startup & Commissioning of the modified system
- Shifting of the control of 25 critical pumps from a single Regent basedEmergency Shutdown System(ESD) controller to five (05) identical but separate controllers
- Planning & In-house procedure development
- Comprehensive Project Management services
The objective was to enhance the reliability and availability of the process critical pumps. The project was done on LSTK (Lump Sum Turn Key) basis
