INTECH lands Alarm Rationalization Project for improving operational efficiencies on FPSOs in Angola
INTECH Process Automation was awarded Alarm Rationalization project for improving operational efficiencies on multiple FPSOs in Angola.
Since its inception, INTECH’s Alarm Management expertise has been a highly sought after service by oil and gas companies around the world. Within a short span of a few years, INTECH’s Alarm Management has gained an excellent reputation for remarkable levels of quality services enabling the customers to meet their targets of operational efficiency, alarm rates, operator console load and optimized equipment functions.
INTECH has been serving the Angolan oil and gas industry for more than fifteen years and has an outstanding record of quality project executions as well as excellent business relations with major players in the regional oil and gas industry. INTECH’s expertise, local presence, and network were instrumental in landing this project.
The end-user of this project, a major global oil and gas company, requested INTECH’s support to resolve issues relating to and improve Alarm Performance Metrics at the FPSOs. The issues primarily include worst actors, stale alarms, operator console flooding, chattering alarms, standing & nuisance alarms, and significantly higher than benchmark average alarm rate. In the first phase, INTECH’s Alarm Management Team will work on rationalization for selected worst actors of 2x DCS Alarm Systems having upto 70,000 alarms configured, determined from initial analysis.
INTECH is mobilizing its resources in Angola and engineering back offices for the execution of this project. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed within the next few months.
