Platform Control System Upgrade
INTECH is currently executing a control system project for an offshore platform in Malongo Terminal, Angola. The platform had obsolete PLC5 Controllers and suffered from reliability issues due to controller memory loading. Consequently due to the loading issue, the control manipulation for process optimization is not possible. INTECH’s role was to upgrade existing systems to Control Logix L7 series based controls.
INTECH executed the project and will perform commissioning of the new control system during a planned shutdown in Jan 2015. The project covered reverse engineering, design and supply of new control systems, HMI and controller functional diagram upgrade to the new end user functional specifications, while retaining integrity and existing functionality. A detailed FAT was performed and all the control and safety functions were validated by the customer team successfully ensuring smooth transition to the new system during the commissioning phase.
